Daniele Luciani, Tender & Compliance Specialist at Mashfrog, shares a journey that began in 2016 and has been marked by growth, change, and new challenges. And outside of work? family and five-a-side soccer, AS Roma, and gardening.

What do you do at Mashfrog?

Today I serve as a Tender & Compliance Specialist, acting as the operational coordinator of the Bids Office. My main responsibility is managing the entire bidding process, from reviewing the call for tenders to preparing the administrative documentation, ensuring compliance with deadlines and current regulations. This involves coordinating the various company departments involved—especially the technical and sales teams—and interacting with external partners, clients, and contracting authorities.

But my story with this company began many years ago: I joined Mashfrog in 2016, right after finishing high school, as an intern in the Finance department. After an initial period in general accounting and treasury, I began a journey of over six years in the HR field, during which I handled personnel administration, from payroll to performance management. This long path allowed me to understand the company from multiple perspectives and to grow continuously.

How has your role changed over the years?

The most important change happened in 2023, when I left the HR area to take on the operational coordination of the bids office, following an internal reorganization. It was a significant transition—from a role focused on internal processes to a more dynamic one, oriented toward business and interaction with external stakeholders.

This transition allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and face strict deadlines, new skills, and a broader perspective on business dynamics. I also took on a liaison role for General Services at the Rome office, supporting my counterpart in the Palermo office. This position allows me to interact with various teams (IT, Finance, Procurement) and manage aspects related to space organization, logistics, and daily operations.

Changing fields after many years is never a given, but it was a conscious choice driven by a desire to grow and explore new professional areas.

What convinced you to stay on such a “long” journey at Mashfrog?

Among my peers, especially at the beginning of their careers, it's quite common to change jobs in search of better opportunities or a new environment. Staying in the same place for almost nine years may seem like a counterintuitive choice, but it was driven by several factors. First of all, the company gave me the chance to build both personal and professional stability—something many of my peers have yet to achieve. In addition, I had the opportunity to grow professionally, changing roles and gaining new skills, all within a dynamic and stimulating environment.

Another key aspect is the sense of belonging: I’ve always felt like an integral part of a dynamic ecosystem where my work has a real impact. At Mashfrog, you’re not just a number—you’re a vital part of the organization’s success.

This, combined with a merit-based system where effort is recognized, and a genuine focus on employee well-being (through benefits, welfare, and growth opportunities), has truly made the difference.

What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?

In my free time, my main passion is soccer. I follow AS Roma with great enthusiasm, go to the stadium when I can, and regularly play seven-a-side soccer, even with a group of longtime colleagues and friends. We've built a real team, with regular weekly games—it’s a great way to have fun, stay active, and strengthen bonds outside the office too.

I recently got married, and that has brought new priorities into my life. Today, family is my main point of reference. I spend my free time not only with my nephew and enjoying the peace of home, but also studying: for the past three years, I’ve been pursuing a university degree in Administrative and Organizational Sciences, which requires dedication and consistency even outside of work hours.

Living outside the city, I’m also lucky to have outdoor spaces that allow me to pursue hobbies like tending to a vegetable garden and a small olive grove, enjoying the peace and quiet.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I’m not the kind of person who makes detailed long-term plans—I prefer to focus on what’s in front of me, face each challenge with commitment, and adapt to changing situations. But one thing is certain: I’d like to continue my journey at Mashfrog and see where all the efforts and projects I’m working on today will lead us. I’m curious to see what other achievements we’ll reach as a Group and what role I’ll play in that context.

On a personal level, my main goal is definitely to start a family. Knowing I can count on a close-knit family network, a stable work environment, and a company that values and supports life choices gives me a real sense of security.

Mashfrog gave me the opportunity to build, at just 27 years old, a level of stability that many young people have yet to reach, allowing me to balance career ambitions with personal peace of mind. For me, that’s not something to take for granted, and it’s one more reason to keep investing in this path with passion and curiosity.
