Mashfrog Group and Roma Tre University Strengthen Their Partnership
A three-year framework agreement has been signed to consolidate collaboration on cybersecurity, applied artificial intelligence, OT/IT security, and the protection of critical infrastructure.
Mashfrog Group and the Civil, Computer Science and Aeronautical Technologies Engineering Department of Roma Tre University have strengthened their collaborative relationship by signing a framework agreement focused on research, training, and technology transfer activities.
The agreement, signed on July 7, 2026, was created with the goal of providing a stable structure for a path that has already been underway for some time, enhancing synergies between academia and business in areas that are increasingly central to the country’s digital transformation: cybersecurity, applied artificial intelligence, OT/IoT systems, critical infrastructure security, and the sustainability of IT and industrial systems.
A Stable Bridge Between University and Business
The agreement, which will last three years with the possibility of renewal, provides an organic framework for developing joint projects, training initiatives, applied research activities, and pathways that bring students closer to highly technological professional environments.
The partnership includes joint research and development activities, the design of advanced training programs for students, PhD candidates, and professionals, and joint participation in public and private funding calls and programs at the local, regional, national, and European levels.
A significant role will also be dedicated to hosting students from bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD programs for thesis projects, internships, and applied training activities at Mashfrog Group’s operational offices. This represents an opportunity to bring academic pathways closer to the dynamics of an increasingly evolving company, contributing to the on-the-ground professional growth of profiles capable of operating in complex environments, with analytical skills and an interdisciplinary perspective.
Applied Research and Experiential Learning
One of the distinguishing elements of the agreement is its focus on experiential learning. Activities may include simulated exercises, teaching clinics, business games, and labs based on realistic cybersecurity scenarios.
This approach is particularly consistent with the challenges of cybersecurity, a field in which technical preparation must be integrated with an understanding of processes, organizational responsibilities, regulatory aspects, and the decision-making dynamics that emerge during incident management.
The collaboration between Mashfrog and Roma Tre is a long-standing one. The latest milestone before the agreement was our Group’s participation in the final sessions of Roma Tre University’s Legal Clinic on Cybersecurity, held on May 29 and 30, 2026. The training session for engineering and law students combined theory with learning by doing and featured more than 20 students from the two departments, guided by Giuseppe Di Bella, Cyber Security Manager at Mashfrog Group and a lawyer, who took part as a lecturer and speaker.
