Mashfrog runs alongside the Race for the Cure

81,000 people turned out in Rome to feature in the Race for the Cure, the most important event to raise awareness on breast cancer. We at Mashfrog joined in for a jog.

The twentieth edition of the Race for the Cure has just called it a day, reinstating its role as one of the most important events raising awareness on breast cancer, health education and prevention, both in Italy and around the world. This year, the event organized by America’s Susan G. Komen foundation, broke all attendance records by bringing 81,000 people to Rome’s Circo Massimo in a collective celebration of a sporting experience despite the pouring rain.

The Race first hit the streets of American cities in 1982 and, according to the US ambassador in Italy, Lewis Mickael Eisenberg, “no other nation like Italy managed to embrace its spirit”. This achievement makes us proud, as the Chairman of Komen Italia, Professor Riccardo Masetti, endorsed in outlining the impressive results accomplished by the Fondazione Komen Italia since its onset: an investment of 17 million euros that generated over 850 projects focusing on research, prevention and health awareness campaigns. Over the years, this set of activities have managed to effectively tackle the spreading of breast cancer while raising awareness on the threat of this disease.

Being aware of just how much  innovationresearch, sharing of knowledge and participation are all fundamental elements to achieve ambitious goals for the general public, mashfrog enthusiastically joined those 81,000 souls running through Rome’s city centre. The Group fielded a company team, providing its support for those who are the forefront of the daily struggle for the cure and prevention of breast cancer.

Our way to provide support to research and innovation is to invest each day on resources and talent that deliver innovative projects from a technological and social standpoint. Our poster child is  HoloSeg, a software that builds on augmented reality and holographic displays to analyze some forms of child cancer.

For those who joined us and for those who couldn’t, here are some of the highlights of our race.
